    yes you do prune it every spring when the tree wants to grow the other way is to use pots and to prune its roots every time you transplant it ive been doing it for 6 years still a beginner but i got my basics lol

    you can also make a ‘better’ bonsai by:
    pruning the roots
    intricately wrapping the tree with wire
    and constant trimming…

    slightly better result but i really like this!

    great video.
    the key to doing any bonsai is to cut the main tap-root off. just soak the root system in water until all the dirt falls away. it wont be hard to find the main tap-root then. now that the root system has been compromised, prunning is all that is left to do.

    hey, you seem to know about this theme,
    i was wondering, can someone make a bnsai tree out of a kapok (i love this tree, i planted one in my backyard cause it looks really powerfu and gives beutiful flowers, and its also legendary here in mexico).
    i dont know to much about bonsais, my first intent, gave me a beutiful bush of laulel, but thats all, can you help me??

    it is partly to do with that but i always think of it as forcing the tree to grow in a small area by giving it a small pot and cutting off large bits you dont want.
