Random ?, but could I make a cherry blossom tree into a bonsai type tree???

I want to grow a tree in memory of my daughter, but I am scared to plant it due to natural disaters harming it. I might move and dont want to leave behind a tree that I have been caring for either, ya know?

Anyway, if it were possible to use a cherry blossom tree would it develop flowers like normal cherry blossom trees??

thanks!

Chinese Elm, or Japanese garden juniper are the best beginner species that are bonsai specific and not native to Australia. This would be easier if I knew what part of Australia b/c I could look up the weather.

I used to recommend junipers but they tend to die if their soil does not drain well, or if they are watered too much or too little. These days I recommend Chinese Elm because they grow like weeds, and are tolerant of overwatering and poor soil.

Okay, so you have a temperate climate, and a fairly mild one, and right now it is early spring there. Everything you bought should do well there.
