To prevent the leaves from falling, you have to: keep the temperature at 75, do not move the tree from the spot were it's doing well.

what do you do if the rocks are glued together? like i pulled on one and with a little force it snapped. does this mean i could just get a chisel or something to get them off because its time for the tree to get repotted

@cadwyn101 it all depends on what species of tree you have but 1. yes you should pluck dead/dying leaves 2. I let my soil feel dry to the touch for about 1-2 days and then water (at which point the soil stays moist for about 5 days or so, then has a 1-2 day dry out period, then I water again) 3. never keep a bonsai in a window sil, they can be kept close by on a table but never in a sil, there is too much heat/cold fluctuations. Make sure they are no where near a heating register/coil.
